    Hotel seems to have been remodeled. Everything, counters, faucets and showers seem new. The shower is very roomy and has flooring which is textured thus keeping old folks like me from slipping. I had an adjacent room to my daughter with connecting doors. Very handy. They staff are friendly and welcoming. The main desk only has one person on duty at one time. Should have two during rush hours. The breakfast is typical Hampton Inn with kids asking their parents to make waffles for them. Scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels and toast. They discontinued fresh cut up fruit as well as boiled eggs. Two computer terminals were available. If you take afternoon naps beware. At such time squadrons of fighter jets fly by from the nearby Marine Air station. Everything was fine and as mentioned the rooms have a new sleek look.

    I stayed here in July 2023. The place was very nice and clean. Staff was friendly. I've stayed in a lot of hotels and this was definitely a nicer one. Also, I'm not sure if anyone working there will read this or this will be deleted, but someone was clearly trying to feed a cat that was surviving outside the hotel. Well here he is 7 months later. Thank you to whoever was feeding him and helping him stay alive. He is a great cat and is so loving. He now gets to sleep comfortably indoors and has gained so much weight while we are looking to find him a forever home. Because of him, I'll always come back to the Hampton Inn when I'm in San Diego! Clearly they have a great staff with heart!

    You can count on almost every Hampton Inn to be a really decent place to stay. This location was no different even though the nearby area appeared to be a bit seedy. Just driving to the hotel, I saw an adult store and a Cheetahs gentleman's club. They also might have an issue with non-hotel guests trying to park in their parking lot as they charged $10 per night for parking. I had a room on the 3rd floor and I found everything to be clean and in good working condition. It was a nice comfortable stay. The location was very convenient as there's many good Asian food options over on Convoy St. It's also located right next to the 52 and 163 freeways.
